Tanasugarn??!!!?

Wow. What a great win for a player that a few years back prior to her injuries, was working her way up in the rankings into the top 20. Now she beats Safina in the finals of the Wimbledon warm up in straight sets. While I highly doubt she can win, could she be considered a possible dangerous floater at Wimbledon?

  1. I was sure she would beat Bondarenko but not Safina. I'm really happy she won since she is the one and only current player from my country. Grass is her best surface and I think she can reach as far as the fourth round or the quarterfinals this year at Wimbledon.

  2. shes definitely going to a player to keep an eye on. she could potentially cause an upset or two. and beating red-hot safina no less....who could have ever predicted that tam would have got through the way she did? upsetting both bondarenko sisters and harkleroad.

she is a more formidable opponent on grass and she does have a history for upsetting players on this surface, before succumbing to a multitude of injuries....beating nathalie tauziat and amelie mauresmo in 2001. and has a nice showing on the stuff too....a finalist at birmingham, she also boasts a 23-11 record at wimbledon, reaching the fourth round six times, compared to a 28-32 in all the others. so if she's playing this way again, the players with her in the draw are certainly going to have to be mindful of the danger that could loom. not saying she will win,but there's certainly that possibility that she could rain on somebody's parade.

  3. Probably. But she definently won't win.
