Question:

Tanker Fumes?

This morning I started to pass a tanker truck on the interstate. When I was about 1/2 way, I suddenly became very dizzy - it was like my eyes crossed. I immediately slowed down. When I was back about 100 feet behind the tanker I was fine again.

It was an older truck - plain black. There was no name or safety placards on the back.

Has any one ever heard of something like this happening?

  1. it was an asphalt tanker.guess at the black part.its never happend to .probaly cause i work with it.

  2. Yes I see them on the roads alot and some as you stated have no markings but the next time that you are passing one of them put the a/c on max and make sure that the windows are completely closed and it should not effect you, remember max a/c not normal or vent...

  3. I have never heard of that happening before but i expect the fumes could have that affect if inhaled for a long duration so you must have been passing it at a slow rate of speed.
