  1. If you put it on your wrist, no. They can't prove it's an item bought there.

  2. just wear the watch when you come through customs

  3. yes you are only allowed about £150 in goods ,the simple answer is put the watch on your wrist and post the box and reciept home declare nothing .If they send you the watch you will have to pay tax on it,when they post you the watch from japan they will have to say what it is they are posting and put value on the package for insurance, they could p**a small value on the watch but if it was to go missing you would not be able to claim all your money back

  4. You will be asked at customs if you have anything to declare and if you are honest you will tell them. I don't know what the exact amount is that you can have before you have to declare it. Be sure and ask before you go.

  5. You will have to if you declare the true value. you should consider asking the sender to mark the box either a sample or a gift.  Also speak to the dealer and ask of they could put a smaller figure in the item value box. This will reduce your cost as customs only apply a figure on the declared value. Should your item be damaged in transit though, you will only be able to claim this lower declared value.

However, I bought a new woodwork Plane from the USA and got hammered for the £75 quid on top. All in all though it was still cheaper than the UK.
