Taxes on Military Veteran disability award?

I just receive a service connected award from the V.A. Will I have to pay taxes on this award?

  1. No.  VA disability is not taxed.  Any regular retirement from DFAS is still subject to Federal tax (Texas does not pay State Income Taxes unless the Law has changed).

  5. No, at least not yet- the Democrats haven't gotten around to finding a way of taxing a VA Disability yet. Give them time though, I'm sure they'll get around to it sooner or later.

  6. Disability pay is non taxable and non garnishment proof.
