I bought one of those mirrors that you record a message and when they land on it, it plays the sentence. We just bought it a few days ago and recorded "pretty bird." We still interact with him and repeat the phrase ourselves, but I was just wondering if anybody has used this product before, does it work? and how long will it be before I get to hear my conure repeat this word?

  1. The best technique to train your conure to talk is lots and lots of patience and perseverance. The device you mentioned might help, but patience and perseverance on your part is of critical importance if you want your bird to talk.

Another major thing about training a parrot to talk, that many people don't know about, is that the bird needs to be healthy and happy -- otherwise it won't be interested very much in learning anything new. A healthy bird needs a healthy diet, with enough fruits and veggies and fresh water, and it needs daily interaction (physical caressing and direct talking) to be happy. Only then it will want to learn anything new -- whether it's talking or trick.

  2. im not sure about that product but i believe the best technique for teaching a bird to talk is to take him or her into a dark room, light a candle and say the phrase over and over again.

There will be no distractions and it is a calm area.

Be patient and do it for around at least a half hour a day.

keep doing that and it will work.

my bird whistles and says hello and a whole bunch of other things. working on I Love you right now.

    GODD LUCK!

  3. what type of bird is it?
