Technics 1500 question - tape bleed???

Hello,Have another quick question regarding the Technics 1500 1/4" 2-trk deck - Quantegy 456 tape.Just recorded a mix to it last night running hot levels. Upon playback, right before the tune begins, you hear a very faint trace of the tune... as if somehow the signal bled onto an earlier portion of the tape before ther actual recording began. My toy cassette decks used to do this also. And you hear this effect on Led Zeppelin albums as well.Anyway, my question... exactly what is this, what is it called, and why does it occur? Is it normal for a well set-up Technics 1500 1/4" 2-track deck? Or might there be some aspect of the deck that needs to be looked at?Finally, this effect is not a problem for me... can always clean up the very beginning of the tunes in the computer later. The effect is actually kinda neat. I cannot detect any sonic degradation or trouble in the recording itself. Thanks - wg
