I love to act and I really want start I'm not focused on being a star right away because i know it doesn't happen overnight. I just turned sixteen and I live in(springfield) Virginia so its not like its buzzing with acting opportunities. I just really don't know where to start. I know that I need to get some experience and I will do plays in school when it starts Ive tried to find community theaters but im not really sure where. If some one could find one for me that would be great but i just dont know how to do it mabey some one could give me guidelines. like where I can get head shotsamd what not.

  1. take classes and do as many plays as possible and get ana agent go to actinginfo.blogspot.com and talentagents.blogspot.com

  2. You can get involved in theater camps or take lessons. Sometimes teachers can have 'connections'.

My friend had a similar situation (though she was 12 then) and her drama teacher at school recommended she audition for a small role in the musical 'The King and I' as one of the princesses. It was playing in a small theater and she got paid $300 (not much, but it is to a 12-year old). From there, she auditioned into more parts, including one as Mushu in Mulan Jr., and in Hamlet.

Try going to dinner theaters and such in your area, like Google 'Theaters in _____' (But it will show movie theaters too...). Try small gigs at first, and they will pile up into experience!

    Good Luck!
