Okay, so im turning 14 and im having a party on July 5th but im turning 14 on independance day. Here are some ideas for the party:

1. Hawaiian Style (food: pork roast, pineapple, umbrella drinks)

2. 80's Style (food: cake made of Twinkies, pigs in a blanket, burgers, tang)

3. Formal dress (food: hor devours, drinks served in plastic champagne glasses, etc)

4. Western (food: beef stew, pork-n-beans, ribs)

My mom will get all dressed up too and host the party. As to cake, she will bake it based on the theme I choose.

I was also looking around and found some other cool themes

Red Carpet

Around the World

any other suggestions?

  1. I am there!

  2. I love all the ideas Im hosting a Luau for a 15 year old this weekend we are having hawaiian food. Tropical Drinks and Slip and Slide races. Then a DJ for the night time. But we are also on a budget. You can go far with a Luau if you have the $$$  and roast a pig and the whole thing.

  3. you should definetely do whatever you choose by the pool.

  4. Hawaiian Style would be a good bet because there are many decorations you can do.  I know that a lot of party stores pull the hawaiian luau stuff to the front around this time of year.  Also food is super easy to do. If you do this theme you can do a pineapple upside down cake for dessert or a chocolate lave cake. I did both when I had a luau party thats was incase someone didn't like pineapple.  You can do fresh fruit for the Hawaiian theme as well.  You could have everyone wear Hawaiian shirts to your party and hand out Hawaiian Leais as Party Favors.

Hope your Party will go well :)

  5. Your ideas are all great!

another idea is a masquerade party!

  6. In my opinion, I think 80's retro sounds so awesome. Since it is in and it sounds simple and very fashionable. I don't think anyone wants to run around in July in a formal dress. 80's theme is more casual and colorful. Everyone can dress insane and your mom might know a thing to two about that decade too.

  7. I love the red Carpet theme- its unique. My friend had a black and white theme- thats what I was thinking of doing for my sweet sixteen- just a suggestion =D

  8. I would go with Hawaiian style or 80s, those are really fun.

The only suggestion I would have... Theme it around a movie or book (I went to a party that was Harry Potter themed, it was actually really cool. They made up a version of quidditch and gave everyone witches hats. That kind of thing)
