Telephone bill?

Hi

I have just recieved my telephone bill but there are alot of ngn numbers (0845/0870 numbers) I dont know who most of them are but dont want to ring them to find out who they are as it will end up costing loads again. Is there a site where I can type in the numbers and they tell me who they are, Im in the uk so will have to be a uk one. There are so many numbers, I just need to find out who they are, thanks

  1. I believe I have just the information you need to resolve your problem.  There's a website http://saynoto0870.co.uk which should be able to identify most of these numbers for you, and what companies they are.  You simply type in the number and the site will tell you who owns that number and give you alternative numbers with area codes.  This works with 0870, 0845 and 0800 numbers. 0800's are free from landlines, but are chargeable from mobiles.  I can't guarantee they'll have all of your numbers on the database, but It's got to be worth a look.

  3. i dont know of any sites but you can put a block on expensive numbers so contact your phone company

  4. just google the number but make sure you put speech marks around the number i.e. "08459871972" because it will search for the number with the digits in the correct order. Go to google.co.uk and search the UK sites which should be easier

    0845/0870 are aften utilities/banks/internet

  5. 0845 are usually local rate charged numbers.

    0870 are usually company helplines/customer service numbers
