Televsison in dubai?

I'm moving to dubai in about 2 months, and I wanted to know whether I can get the channels that I watch in the U.S. on my t.v in dubai?

Otherwise you have to find out if your favorite channels are transmitted to a satelitte above the middle east... and place a dish (apparently not legal but lots are doing so).
