If you're really interested in learning to DRIVE your bike well call some of your local bike shops and see if there's a local cycle touring club you can join. Once you start riding with more experienced cyclist they'll talk your ear off if you let them.

Even better, if you can find someone affiliated with the League Of American Bicyclist they may be able to offer you (for a small fee) a Road One training course. Then you'll really learn some bike skills that will help you stay alive on the roads.

Notice how I emphasized the word, "DRIVE." That's how you should think when on your bicycle. You are driving it.

Even effort;  no herky-jerky motions.    Pedal at about 80 rpm.   Wear a helmet.
