  1. When i started tennis i went up to a concrete wall and started hitin the ball back and forth

  2. For my beginners, I bought a couple of foam pads and stuck them about 2 feet from the baseline and 2 feet away from the sideline. Then I would feed them balls and make them alternate which side they shot on trying to get as close to the pad as possible. Before long they have are hitting within 1 or 2 feet of the pads consistently and it helps drastically in match play. You should try this out.

  3. Mini tennis with star balls (or decompression balls).  Build a ball pyramid on the service line and first have the student throw balls at the target.  When he/she starts getting closer with the balls, make them run, catch, and target the pyramid.  Then, toss them balls underhand and have them hit at the target.

Take them to a backwall or a garage.  Draw a circle about 4 feet from the ground and the beginner hit against the wall, counting how many times in a minute they can hit that target.
