  1. I'm not sure about the Texas Road Test, but I know in Maryland, you can take any car you want. I'm pretty sure it's the same for any state.

I just got a new car that my parents bought me. It's a Honda Civic LX 2008. It was very good for parallel parking considering it was a small car.

If you have a bigger car, they might adjust the cones so you can parallel park.

    Tips:

On the Maryland test, I know you have to get in a car line. The instructor gets in and then you have to turn off the car. Then, you must turn on the car again. Then you must tell them to buckle their seat belts. If you don't, it's an automatic fail for endangerment of passengers. Then you are called up and then you have to make a left. USE YOUR ******* TURN SIGNALS. It is important. ALWAYS, ALWAYS USE YOUR TURN SIGNALS.

Then there will be a part where you have to back up. Back up SLOW. Put your hand at 12'o clock on the steering wheel and go STRAIGHT and SLOW.

Then, you will have to parallel park. Parallel Park as how you were taught, use your turn signals to enter and then exit. DO NOT HIT THE CURB OR CONES. If you do, it's an automatic fail.

Then you will have to go to a three-point turn. This is probably the easiest part of the test. For forward, turn right, then back up, then go right and straighten up. DO NOT HIT THE CURB. If you do, again, you fail.

Then, use turn signal, make a sharp turn and go at a stop sign. MAKE A COMPLETE STOP. Do not do a rolling stop. Observe traffic.

    Go forward. SLOW. STOP.

That will complete your test hopefully.

If you fail in Maryland, I don't know about Texas, but they ask you to get out of the car and get in the passenger seat. They then drive you back to the starting point. This makes you look like a dummy and a little child to everyone.

Whatever you do, please don't fail.

I wish you the best. Don't worry, if you do everything you were taught, you'll be fine.

  2. Any standard size vehicle will be OK. Just make sure all the lights, blinkers, and the horn works.

When you are driving with the tester...make sure you look both ways when you come to a stop sign....and when you are looking to the left and right....make sure your head turns...not just your eyes. He has to see your head turn. Make sure you stop behind stop signs before moving forward to see the road better. Don't make wide turns...but don't turn too sharp and run over the curb.
