Texas hold 'em ?

Why is Texas Hold 'Em so popular than other poker games? I first learned playing 5-Card Stud.

Hold Em provides more action and is more of a thinking player's game.  In 5-card stud, you can see the other players up cards and they can see yours.  Also you know that your up cards do not help your opponents hand since those cards are yours and yours alone.  You can kind of guess what your opponents may have and they have some sort of idea of what you have.  So usually after all the cards are out there is no action.

In Hold Em there are 5 community cards which are shared with everyone at the table.  You have to determine whether those cards help your opponents' hands and they have to determine the same about your hand.  There is much more room for making bluffs and plays in Hold Em.   This creates more action than you find in 5-card stud and is what makes hold the most popular poker game out there today.

When all the cards are out there is still a chance to put moves on your opponents.  You can bluff them off big pots or you can sucker them in to betting big when you check and appear weak.
