The Best Forwards In World

The striker or forward is probably one of the most important roles in a football team. The forwards are the main goal threats for the team, if they don’t find the back of the net, there would be a very low probability for their teams to be going away with the win. However there are some forwards who stand head and shoulders above the rest.

The first of those players is, Diego Forlan. The former Manchester United outcast, has had no trouble finding the back of the net a ridiculous number of times in Spain. He has scored numerous goals over his career. The first time his goal scoring potential was felt was in the 2004-2005 season when he scored twenty five goals and won the Pichichi. He managed to beat his own record in the 2008-2009 season when he scored thirty two goals. He has one of the deadliest right foot’s in the game of football and has an excellent awareness of the game.

The Ivory Coast captain, Didier Drogba, is the only footballer to make the FORBES 100 list. He has managed to make the list due to his exceptionally good goal scoring record and his humanitarian work. Many people would believe that Drogba is only playing as good as he is, due to the fact that he’s employed at Chelsea, but he was scoring countless goals back when he was playing for teams such as, Guingamp and Marseilla. Drogba Possesses great strength with amazing footwork, this is a killer combination for any striker.

A young Wayne Rooney was spotted by Sir Alex, back when he was playing for Everton. Without thinking twice he signed the youngster. Rooney ever since his move to Manchester United back in 2004 has grown into one of the greatest strikers the world has seen, he combines power with precision and pace. He managed to score over thirty goals over the previous season, which by anyone’s standards is quite exceptional. He may have had a disappointing World Cup in 2010 but it is safe to say there is still more to come from the Manchester United forward.

Fernando Torres is the fastest player in Liverpool’s history to score fifty goals. Scoring fifty goals in itself is a big task for most but doing it with such ease and with such pace, makes Torres stand out above the rest. Torres has already proved he has a habit of scoring crucial and deadly goals, and it is safe to say that there is much more that can be expected from ‘El Nino’ over the years.

David Villa is without a doubt the best striker in the World at the moment, he has consistently scored an average of twenty goals for the past decade for all the club teams he’s played for. He is a clinical finisher, with pace, precision, power and the ability to play equally as good with both his feet. He is on the verge of breaking every Spanish goal scoring record that had ever been made and it doesn’t look like he's going to be stopping just there.
