The Clippers are a playoff team

They have completely changed their roster by adding in Baron Davis, Marcus Camby, Ricky Davis, Brian Skinner, Jason Hart, and the return of Shaun Livingston. Their starting lineup has gotten significantly better, and their bench now as depth. I believe that if this team can stay healthy, they will be a playoff team. Their defense will be amazing with the best blocker and rebounder (Marcus Camby), and a top 5 blocker and rebounder in Chris Kaman. Their scoring will also strengthen with the addition of Baron Davis, Eric Gordon, and Ricky Davis. And most importantly, they aquired one of the best point guards in the NBA to lead the way. This is a playoff team.

C - Marcus Camby/DeAndre Jordan

PF - Chris Kaman/Brian Skinner

SG - Cuttino Mobley/Eric Gordon

SF - Al Thornton/Ricky Davis

I say decent starting lineup if Baron,Camby,or Kaman gets hurt that would really destroy the whole team.Sorry but i think there overrated right now. They need a better bench too but this is my opinion

NO, the clippers are definitely not a playoff team. It's all about Ricky Davis.

For one, any team that has Ricky Davis fails. The Celtics and Heat were terrible with him. He can't help but jack up shots every time he's on the floor.

Second, Ricky Davis with another talented player at his position will cause nothing but trouble. He could be used an SF or SG, and Cuttino Mobley, Al Thornton, and Eric Gordon are already there which makes it very crowded.

Also, with the talented players they have now, only Baron Davis proved himself to be the only true scorer in the starting five (although Al Thornton is rising). The Clippers are not a playoff contender and I don't see them going anywhere in the future. Without playing time for the young, inexperienced players, they won't be good enough to adapt to the NBA game. With Baron Davis ahead of Livingston and Marcus Camby ahead of DeAndre Jordan, it'll take years for them to develop.

well you already said it, the key is health. if baron misses around 10 games or so, they clippers are cooked. you thought the west was tough last year? it is even tougher this year. sacramento is getting better, the blazers will be much improved, the warriors will put up a fight, the twolves will put up a fight, and then you have all the regulars...hornets, lakers, spurs, mavs, rockets, jazz, nuggets, suns, etc...

but it's no secret that baron and camby are 2 of the most injury prone players in the nba. the only reason why baron played a full season last year was because he was playing for a contract. and camby has always been hurt ever since he was a raptor.

it will also be interesting to see how baron gets a long with dunleavy. baron needs to be a in free wheeling system, thats why he and nelson got along so well and was so successful in the warriors' system. but when baron was in charlotte and new orleans, he clashed with every single coach he ever had because they wanted to control baron. baron needs to play in a loose system.
