i'm doing a summer assignment for The Crucible, by Arthur Miller.
crucible
cru·ci·ble –noun 1. a container of metal or refractory material employed for heating substances to high temperatures.
2. a severe, searching test or trial.
that's the definition of Crucible. this is the question i have to answer:
symbols & commentary to validate (w/ 2 instances where they appear)
1. vessel baked to resist heat
2. test, trial, ordeal
i don't really understand the question. but can you people help me find where those 2 definitions are symbolized in the book?
thanks!
