The Georgia Russia issue?

Does anyone know whats going on there. My dad said he thinks its because of oil. theirs a pipe line running threw Georgia and Russia wants it.. But i have no idea..

I talked to my cousin the other day.  She lives in Georgia, she has not seen any Russian troops.  Why hasn't the United States done anything about them invading our country.

Your dad is correct. Russia has been working very hard with pipelines into Europe to supply most of the oil and gas they need. They will then have Europe under their control. But the pipeline through Georgia is messing up their plans. They need to control that major source for their plan to work. So they decided to cook up an excuse to invade Georgia and take it. Georgia is a fledgling democracy who admires the USA and that irritates the commie hard liners in Russia.

Anyone who would believe anything they see on youtube is pretty gullible. Dhurley is full of it.

Ok the american government and the media want you to believe that Russia is the bad guy. Truth is Georgia started attacking and killing South Ossetian people, which is basically Russian people. It's a small place. So Russia would not allow Georgia to do that. Russia is standing up for themselves and telling the world that they are not afraid. Georgians claimed that Russia had called a cease fire, but in fact they never did. So when the fighting continued it looked like Russians were going against their word. Russia is the good guy here.

It's complicated, and like all superpower confrontations, the only real "good guys" are the innocent civilians in Ossetia and Georgia. I've been blogging about it:

its several things, i heard georgia was about to join NATO and russia had to make a move before that happened or all of NATO would come to georgia's defense militarily. and since oil is so much more expensive now than a few years ago, russia has lots of money to do things with.
