The Greatest Karate Style?

Question

I'd say is Shotokan!!!

Why ,well three of the greatest masters studied it and evolved their own.

Mas Oyama....Kyokushinkai

Hironori Ohtsuka.. Wado Ryu

General Choi..Tae kwon do

So shotokan must feature at least 70% of the credit dont ya think .

i'd say the first form which is in fact okinawan...shotokan (broken stance) developed from this original style...i've seen all these in demonstration and it is the most pure style there is....

comparing all the above styles you listed is like asking what better wing chun or jeet kun do....every style has its advantages and flaws its down to the martial artist to adapt it to there needs.

i would say, but only coz i am black belt third dan in it, origami. u need to be skilled especially with your hands.

kyokushinkai is definitley the best style of karate to ever be forged. it's hard and forms are not neccesary. to me it is one of the best martial arts styles to ever be made

jiu jutsa is the greatest fighting technique if you real have to fight someone on the street!

Kyokushin, Kempo and Goju are the best styles, kemo is a hard one because it's seperated into very good schools and McDojo schools.  Oyama Sosai studied Goju and said that Shotokan is great for little kids but not enough to be a good fighter, he was very into the harder training and conditioning of Goju Karate

No I do not agree. Shotokan is a great style, but it is not the best. there is no best style of karate, they all have their strengths and weaknesses. What about Goju-Ryu, Shorin-Ryu, Euchi-Ryu. Isshin-Ryu?

All of these when trained correctly are excellent. And to the young man who said Kyokushinkai becasue there are no kata's, sorry to tell you that it does have katas. You just didn't see any on the Human Weapon, which is where I suspect you got your knowledge from. Please actually have your facts straight before you answer adn make yourself look like a tard.

I wont say either way (I have my own preference), but here is a question to ponder:

Is it the value of that art or just the popularity of it (the spread across the population )that made so many good people come from Shotokan?

Or another question, if it was so good, why did they change?

Katana is right Kyokushin has kata, 20 to be exact.  Karate without kata is like boxing without shadow boxing.  Doesn't make you a fighter, but it is a good exercise.

It doesn't matter which karate style is better. Each has it's own benefits and disadvantages. The style does not determine the fight. The harder worker always win.
