The Splits?

Hey

I want to be able to do the splits, but just can't lol

Are there any stretches I could do to help me to do them?

  1. sit flat on the floor and spread your legs out to the side as far as you can without pain. reach to the middle as far as you can w/o pain then try to touch both toes and then each individually. do several sets.

    then, stand up and slide as far as you can w/o pain the put all your weight on your hands. do several sets of those too.

    now do the same thing only in a lunge position so one leg is in front and one in back.

    do about 10 of these each day the first few days you may want to do less so you're not sore.

  2. if you hold your split for 1 minute everyday for a week, your split will be one inch lower. 2 minutes=2 inches, etc.

  3. yes, LUNGES; do some, and push your hips in front of you, and then straighten your front leg, and put you nose, to your knee, and sit in a stradle, and put your nose to each side, I really hope this helped, cause i do this, and splits have gotten alot better!

  5. practise everyday in the morning and night, but before you do make sure you warm up otherwise you will pull a muscle and tense up.

  6. well a good stretch would be just the splitz themselves. do both legs and the middle ones. Also a good stretch is the "runners stretch" so its basically like a lunge. You put one leg in front and bend it all the way, then the other leg sticks out behind you, and your hands go on the ground. Do that on both legs. Then you can also go into a splitz position and bend the front leg under so it basically sitting under your crotch (its not as werid as it seems) and just lean forward. you should feel it.

  7. yes. stretch in the mornings before yu take a shower. try to go farther than yu usually can and hold them for 3o seconds. becuz it takes about 15 sec for the mucsles to release and 15 secs for the muscles to remember the stretch.

  9. I had the same problem about a year ago. I really wanted to do the splits, but did not know the right routine or stretches to do to help me get there. But i found a awesome website that will help you get them in 3 weeks!

    Good luck to you! and please to do over stretch, you could hurt yourself. Only stretch until it hurts a little, not A LOT! and hold it for 10-15 seconds. I would do each stretch about 2-4 times. I hope you get them! its an amazing feeling when all the hard work pays off!
