The Top Ten percent?

Scholarships are awarded for students in the top ten percent of their class. How does that work for homeschoolers?

If a student is the only person in his/her class, he/she would rank number one.

Answer 2

Some homeschoolers would put their rank as the top in a class of one.

Others might use their Standardized test ranking and figure that if they are in the 95th percentile they are 95th in a class of 100.

Exactly how the scholarship program would view either of those methods is up to that individual program.

Not *all* scholarships are awarded this way.  I was in the top 15% of my high school class and received 5 scholarships my freshman year.

While some are based on your ranking in your class, far more are based on an application which includes GPA, SAT/ACT scores, community involvement, work experience, chosen major, financial need, a portfolio, transcripts, etc.

HS'ers have the same "shot" at most scholarships, and once they're going into their sophomore year in college, high school no longer matters - it's all on the college GPA.
