Question:

The masters or world championship?

Who thinks that the world championship of snooker should move to a bigger venue. e.g. wembley. The crucible only holds less than a 1000. Snooker is in decline due to the lack of tobacco sponsership so they need more backsides on seats. Anyone got a opinion. I've being going to the masters at wembley for 25 years and it can hold up to 3000.

  1. The crucible is perfect for the World Championship.

  2. why should london get the world snooker? they already host the masters leave the world snooker for sheffield it is its spiritual home

  3. got to be crucible becase atmosphire so good

  4. I find them both really enjoyable, never actually gone to one though...

  5. Why would the game be in decline because of tobacco sponsorship, there are many new, young, talented players coming through, and it's not all about how many spectators turn up to watch and why should everything be in london ? There are thousands of people in sheffield that love the game simply because that's where the world championship is held

  6. I enjoyed them both, but managed to go to the Masters to see Ronnie this year because it was at Wembley. The main problem with the sport being in decline is more to do with lack of good coverage. Only 4 tournaments a year are televised on BBC2, not everyone has sky sports!  And the BBC only let them have set times, hence the final going into the early hours of the morning and people losing interest. There is also little press coverage of any events. I remember in its heyday the World champion would be on the front of all the papers, now its not even on the back page but a few pages inside, while football gets page sof coverage.

  7. masters

  8. The crucible is world snookers spiritual home.Keep it in Sheffield

  9. They are actually renovating the Crucible Theatre this year to increase the capacity and improve disabled access. I think it should always stay there.

  10. I think that the Crucible is brand name for snooker, so leave it that way :)
