  1. A monarchy is a government ruled by a monarch. There are several types, but the ones that last are constitutional monarchies, where the monarch is the Head of State and an elected official (or one that is appointed by elected officials) is the head of government.

Nobility was not found in most countries of the world. There are few left that recognize nobilty titles anymore.

BTW, HRH Prince William is not a commoner. As a member of the royal family, he is royal by blood and is titled as such. He is a prince, legally and by birth. He has royal duties that he must attend to as occasion requires. For example, as second in line to the throne, he became eligible to become a Counsellor of State, and first served in that capacity when the Queen was abroad on a state visit to Nigeria in 2003.

  2. The nobility is titled,non-royal aristocracy,the dukes,marquesses,earls,

    viscounts,barons.

These are all commoners, and not royals. The monarchy are all royals.

Before her marriage Diana was a commoner;she was titled aristocracy but non-royal.So was Elizabeth,The Queen Mother, who was the commoner Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon before her marriage to HRH George,Duke of York.

Oh,Prince William is not a commoner!! He is His Royal Highness,Prince William of Wales. He was born a royal.Anne, the Princess Royal is certainly not a commoner, either. She was born a royal princess.Someone made an error!

  3. A monarchy is a form of government in which a monarch (King/Queen), usually a single person, is the head of state. A monarch's family is known as the "Royal Family."

Nobility is a government-privileged title which may be either hereditary or for a lifetime. A noble person is someone with a peerage title. There are five ranks in the Peerage of England:

    Duke/Duchess

    Marquess/Marchioness

    Earl/Countess

    Viscount/Countess

    Baron/Baroness

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peerage_of_...

Note: Royalty is referred to any royal family member with a substantive title. A substantive title (or substantive peerage) is a title of nobility or royalty held by someone (normally by one person alone), which they gained through either grant or inheritance, as opposed to one given or loaned to them either as a courtesy title, or gained through marriage. A commoner is anyone who is not the sovereign or the holder of a substantive (as opposed to courtesy) peerage. This includes all members of the royal family who are not peers, and all members of peerage families except the actual peer: for example, Prince William of Wales and the Princess Royal are all "commoners."

  4. The language us humans use to attempt to relate to eachother is frightening.

  5. In the UK Royalty are closely related to the ruling Monarch (it includes the Queen, her children and grandchildren, her niece and nephew and their children and her cousins and their children).

Many of those have Royal titles (i.e. HRH) but just as many have no title (two of the Queen's grandchildren have no title at all, not even a courtesy title).

Nobility are those who have the title Duke (without the HRH), Marquis, Earl, Viscount and lastly Baron/Lord.

BTW Prince William is most certainly not a commoner, as he is in direct line to the throne he was born a Prince. Lack of a title does not denote that you are not royalty. As the eldest Granddaughter of the Queen, Zara Philips carries out engagements on her grandmother's behalf even though she herself is untitled.

  6. I could be wrong but I believe nobility would be Lords, Ladies, Dukes, Duchesses etc. and Monarchy means Kings, Queens, Princes and Princesses.

  7. The monarchy is just royalty.  That would include Queens, Kings, Princes.  The Nobility are the lesser titles.  In England would include Earls, Barons, Marquis.
