The one question to ask...?

You need directions to the next town and know you must ask an eccentric rustic who can tell the truth (and lie) only on alternate days. What single question can you ask that will give you the true answer, regardless of which day it is?

Can you point to the/ Can you see questions. I don't think anyone would lie about vision.

Ask him what's the best town close to the vicinity you're in.  He may tell you, Brookfield.  Assuming you already know where Brookfield is, ask him if you're anywhere near it.  Nine times out of ten, he will say yes. You know that you've already passed Brookfield, ten miles ago,  and Brownsville is the one you're approaching.  So, Brownsville, (the one time out of ten), is the correct answer.
