as i see it the when we were young the point of baseball was to have fun. I am 15 and play in competetive leagues (Not little league and house leagues) and i hear all these people who have never played baseball or arent very good at it saying its all about the fun. Well it is not about the fun because fun is going to get you no where. Its about winning. As you can tell this isnt a question but sort of a statement

  1. I think there is something wrong with your thinking if you look at baseball as a way of getting you somewhere. It might get you through college with a scholarship or get you some recognition in high school or something, but that's not the point of the game. The point of baseball (at least to me) is to have fun. I personally have the most fun when I take the game seriously and work hard to win. I find this more fun then s******g around and losing. I find heated competition much more fun then a relaxing as though I don't care about losing.

  2. I play for fun.

  3. Well winning it pretty fun isn't it. Doing your best is very satisfying. You get your enjoyment from different things as you get older. The comraderie with teamates is fun.

The game can still be fun.

  4. Baseball, like any sport, is about the spirit of competition. Human endurance to be his/her best. Winning helps but a lot of the time it's not that fun. Just ask anyone in the Majors. There's a lot of sacrifice involved.

  5. Well you kind of answered your own question...

The point of baseball is to have more feet from your feet touch home plate than the other team. Some think it's about winning, other's, having fun. I mean there is not much to say. It's just about people's opinions and how seriously they take the game.

  6. Any time I take part in any activity, I do it to win. Whether it is playing baseball, monopoly, Call of Duty 4, or picking up a girl in a bar...

The people that say it is for fun, don't mind losing and probably aren't very good at what they are doing.  Now when you are too young like younger than 11 years old, it is fun for the coaches and parents and it doesn't matter how bad you are, you will play the same amount as anyone.

GO BIG OR GO HOME...  Just like Tiger

  7. Fun? Not exactly, no. But it is about having a love for the game. Its playing and playing your best because you know that you would not be able to live without it. Some people play so they can wear their jersey to school, others play so they have something to dream about at night. In other words, if you truly love the game, it becomes a way of life, and if it is your life, you find ways to make it fun.

  8. yeah i look at from it is not about fun all the time i spent in the batting cages and pitching tons of pitches and do weights nothing is fun about that. Well maybe after you win a bunch

  9. I play competatively and to make my self better while having fun at the same time by just enjoying the game.

  10. i agree, i can't imagine playing a baseball game and not keeping score.  then at the end of the season everyone gets a trophy.  people need to understand that you can't win all the time your going to lose at something so you might as well lern to deal with it.
