jacman and bale's characters started their feud from what happened with angier's wife, 'cause the movie showed borden tying angier's wife's hands with a hard-to-untie knot and this led to the wife's death....i just wanna know if borden actually did that knot on purpose to kill angier's wife or maybe it was the wife who told borden to do that knot, 'cause after her death angier would always ask borden what knot he tied and bale would always say he doen't know (...maybe he kept sayin that just to avoid telling the truth that it was his wife's decision that killed her...)...

i don't think he did it on purpose, he wanted nothing than to be a magician, and killing angiers wife would have nothing to do with that

i think bordon doesn't actually remember which not he tied, which is why it seems to bother him at times, when the subject rises

borden 's assistant was his twin brother in disguise and thet took turns being borden.so the twist was it was a different brother that tied the knot and the other to free her. so when he was asked what knot he tied ,he couldn't answer truthfully without admiting there was two of them
