The study of Anthropology??

Question

What is it? and what is Nutritional Anthropolgy??

Simplified answers please because it's easy to go on to dictionary.com and getting an answer that is PHD level. I don't want that. So may you please help me.

AND is it something I can live the rest of my life doing??

Nuitritional anthropolgy is the study of what people eat but it also ties into how their nutrition affects the culture on a bigger scale. Population, territorial expansion, histories etc. It is an interesting field and after some grad work you can make a career from it. Anthropology isn't just the study of ancient societies but is current as well, nutrional anthropology has PLENTY of modern day applications and is useful.

There are four areas of anthropology, cultural (mostly living human groups), archeology, linguistic anthropology, and biological anthropology. Nutritional anthropology is part of biological anthropology, as well as cultural anthropology. For example, you can tell a whole lot from people's bones about their nutrition when they were living. So you can learn a lot about whole groups of people in the past that way. But it's also about what people eat now and why and who has access to what foods etc. from a sociopolitical perspective etc. I think nutritional anthropologists are able to get jobs in many fields, including the medical field, with NGOs, and if they are biological anthropologists, in many additional areas. There is also medical anthropology, which relates in many ways to nutritional anthropology. There is also anthropology of land, food, power, and culture, for example. The value of anthropology is increasingly understood and more people are getting jobs in areas other than academics.

antropology is the study of people and how they lived and no it is very difficult to live your life doing it unless u are very successful and write alot of books.. most schools are budgeting out their history depts.   sad but true
