Things I need for Cancun?

I am going to be traveling to cancun, and staying at the Gran Caribe Real resort.. What are some things that i will need to bring with me. For people who have already gone....Tips/advice?

one extra little question- "how much do you tip a staff member?"

Something to enjoy the water in, some money to go into town and shop because there are a lot of bargains, a good attitude, some sunscreen and a hat and some patience because customs lines are not short.
