I'm assuming you mean 3*(1/2)x by 3 1/2x... cause different combinations could be possible such as 3*1/(2x) would result in different answers

3*(1/2)x + 2*(3/4)= 5x+2

(3/2)x + (6/4) = 5x + 2

3/2 x - 5x = 2 - 6/4

3/2 x - 10/2 x = 8/4 - 6/4 (Least common denominator)

-7/2 x = 2/4

x= - 4/28
