Asus is solid. It's a good mobo. Only has a single PCI-E slot. So no ATI crossfire (which is similar to nvidia's SLI)..

doesnt support very fast RAM and the pci e arent that good. would suggest spending a few more bucks

yes go for ur second choice of motherboard, i have just ordered and similar asus motherboard and i would get your 1st choice especially when you want to use that cpu you selected. if you want a graphics card id recommend a ati 4850 or the 4870.

And from experience its not wise to skimp on the motherboard and ram

for ram have a look at kingston or ocz and by the fastest spped possible and no less than 2 gig for vista, remember you can always add more ram later
