  1. I personally would take the JL Audio, but it really depends upon your choice in Bass. Some like really harmonic lows and some like really punchy lows. The Kicker would probably be better at being harmonic (due to a larger diameter cone) and the JL Audio would probably have more punch to it. Larger cone speakers such as 18s have more cone to move and typically (Not always) don't get the quick punchy bass a smaller speaker will have (say a 12"). Also, make sure that the speaker you choose, more closely matches the air volume of the trunk. You don't want a subwoofer incapable of utilizing the complete trunk air volume, nor do you want a subwoofer that requires a higher air space volume than you have available (Otherwise, you will not get optimal bass resonance in the trunk [it will sound like c**p, more rattle than sound <-- bass]). You want clear, clean, and harmonic bass you can feel deep in your chest. I had a 12" Dual Voice Coil Radio Shack Subwoofer (120W MAX per coil) that I had built thee perfect box for (with a computer modeling program), the bass was so perfectly harmonic that you couldn't drive down the road with it because your vision would distort so bad (literally)! I ended up selling that subwoofer to a friend who built a house amp for it for his home stereo. The most important component for your subwoofer's sound is the box itself. Trapezoids are the best box for almost any subwoofer, they have the best sound reproduction

  2. I would take the W6's, since the Solo X's have problems, like mechanical breakdown. Also they are not the beastiest subs out there, not with the likes of RE's x*x, MX, and SX out there. I laugh at kicker.

  3. the kickers!!! the solo-x are the beastiest subs out there right now hands down all 3 of those w6's can't hold a match to 1! solo-x.

  4. Wow your dad is a nice man. I'd pick the 2 18's because they will bump strictly for bass at 10000w RMS minimum. If he had 13w7's then I'd get those, but not the w6's so stick with the solo's. You're gonna be bumping...
