Thursday Romford A1 races preview
Romford is scheduled to have 14 races Thursday night, two of which are A1 rated races, and another is an S1 rated race.
The first A1 race is race six, set to go at 15:48. The middle distance race currently has Filingplusdogcom and Ardmayle Slippy at 3-1. Filingplusdogcom is racing out of trap one while Slippy is coming out of trap four. If Filingplusdogcom can get an early start it will be difficult for Slippy to catch up. Slippy has shown an inability to come from behind in prior races. Rattling Ted, at 4-1 and out of the fifth trap, could do well, and has Bantiss Bonville beside him in the sixth trap. Bonville is a wide racer leaving Ted the freedom to push to the inside or stay wide. Funcheon Ash, currently at 9-2, could show some flash, but is not consistent. Bypass Our Billy will run out of the second trap, currently at 11-2. Our Billy could be outclassed in this race and will be hard pressed to win.
The other A1 race is race number nine, scheduled to start at 16:47. Klondike Highway, Borna Heather, and Duleek Dazzler are all sitting at 3-1 odds and should provide an exciting race. Klondike will be coming out of trap two and will need to get ahead early to win. Heather has looked decent in recent A2 races, but could be behind early despite the odds. Duleek Dazzler, a wide runner, will challenge for the lead out of the sixth trap. Jakes Saloon, in the fifth trap, sits at 7-2, and has looked good recently finishing first in two of his last three races. Courts Ad Jacob, currently at 9-2, will race out of the fourth trap and is known for being good out of the traps. If there is some early crowding Jacob could take an early lead. If Jacob does come out in front look for Duleek Dazzler to challenge. Get A Grip will run from trap one and consistently runs in the A1 races, but wins few of them.
The S1 race, over 575 metres, is race number eleven and set to go at 17:22. It will see Indian Valley return to S1 racing. The last time Valley raced S1 was 11 August. He won that race from the sixth trap by 1 ¼ lengths after leading from the start. Valley will run from the sixth trap in tomorrow’s race as well. Look for similar results if the rust can be shaken off early. Archers Marble at 3-1 is another strong contender running from trap one. Lurriga Berry, currently at 10-3, should keep pace with Marble and Valley while Laurens Lilly at 4-1 will need to avoid mistakes to keep up with the pack. Best Bargain may not be the best bargain coming from trap five, and Dinner Ace, at 11-2, has not looked good in recent races.
