I got a ticket because I was driving my parents car but the ticket was because there was a crack in the mirror and the light was out that was almost a year ago and now they raised our insurance do you think it was because of that.

  1. This is not the cause of your raise in premiums as it's not a moving violation.

  2. It depends on your insurance carrier's point-count-system, typically a combination of a non-moving violation w/moving violation will cause you to lose the 20% good driver discount. What I suggest is that you call an underwriter and then call me for a quote 1-888-731-9999 or go to www.safelyinsured.com, take care.

  3. No. They won't raise your insurance because of that.

  4. Answer from a General Insurance Agent

No, Insurers do not assess points or rate increases due to what we consider Non-moving violations

    Tace care

  5. Depends which company you have, usually preferred companies will charge you for it compare to non-stardard but lately I've seen a lot of companies increasing rates so that might be the reason of your increase and not the ticket. Call your agent to find out.
