My mate tinted my tail lights and they look all god but during normal day time sun they are pretty hard to see but at night are fine. I was hoping to remove a few layers. I have heard nail polish remover or paint thinner but will this make the tail lights brittle? Or 1000 - 2000 grit sand paper will this take out the red of the tail lights?

Please Help thankyou

  1. Buy new lenses ( or go to the wreckers and save a couple of dollars) and forget the crappy and dangerous tinting that makes your car less visible.  Acetone won't take off the tint it will dissolve the plastic.  Sanding will change the surface, meaning it may not disperse the light according the pattern designed into it.

  2. If You Don't Want To Mess Your Tail Lights Up I Suggest To Re-Do The Whole Thing And This Time Don't Put As Much Tint On As Before Or Try Things The Red-Neck Way And Use Sand Paper And Nail Polish Remover Good Luck

  3. no no no! no nail polish! sand paper very fine grit. sand it down, then wash the tail lights after that take window glass paint, you will need a clear, to paint over them. if its possible depending on supplies you have,  spray it on. nail polish will eat the plastic and make it look worse. next time i wouldnt let a friend do something like that unless you've seen it done before lol

    GOOD LUCK
