  1. BE GOOD

    WORK OUT!!

  2. I think hes a dude lol.  A great captain lead first by example, only chew out team mates as a last resort. It is also partly your responsibilty Its your job to keep your teamates calm in tough situations as well. And of course your the only one who is supposed to be able to talk to the ref, learn to do this diplomaticaly and politely and you will see them give u some close calls.

  3. be very supportive, energetic and fun. Do not on any condition yell at any off the players it will just lower their self asteem.

  4. be positive and give you team mates encouragement be a leader on the court

  5. be loud

    aggresive

    energetic

    confident

    on top of things

    passionate

and cheer for your team  alot

    study the other teams rotation

tell your girls where to and where not to hit or where to go on defense. make sure everyone knows where your going too.

and just get really hyped for your team

    its a big deal.

  6. Some good points in the answers above.

Make sure what your coach wants on the coin toss.  Whether the coach wants to serve, or receive or has a preference on the side of the court.

Be positive with your team.  As stated above, you will be the loudest to congratulate the great plays and the first to tell the player that messed up that they will get the next one.

Hustle on every play.  You do not want to be a captain only with your mouth.  You want to be the best player that hustles the most.

As mentioned above, you are supposed to be the only one to talk with the referees.  As a referee, I can tell you how I like (and dislike) the captains to address me.  And what works.

LIKE-You should ask a question politely and not on every play.  You should ask about the interpretation of the rule.  No questions on judgement calls.  You can ask about timeouts that your team has left.  And you should not be conversing with the referees except in rare cases.  If you are there every other play, you will soon be getting your card.

DISLIKE-You should not ask questions like-Why didn't you call that a double hit or a lift.  Or why didn't you call that ball in or out.  My least favorite question is-"Are you sure?"  I just get done explaining my call and the captain asks if I am sure.  I would really like to say that no I was not sure.  l would like to say that I just made up the call just to see what they say.  Just because there is a question mark at the end of your sentence, your question is not always allowed.

  7. make sure everyone does there warm ups to there full potential and in the morning before you go inside do 3 laps around the building so everyone wakes up. also if its an over night make sure everyone gets to bed earlier then usual and that they stretched before going to bed and when they wake up those are the times when you muscles can tighten up. also if you can have a team breakfast with everyone so you ca get pumped up and have something good to eat hope this works out for you and remember the most important part about being a captain is to HAVE FUN because if you dont your teamates wont either.

  8. The biggest thing is to be extra supportive of your team...and if someone messes up, congragulate them on their effort.  I was made captain on my vball team, too.  And to tell you the truth I was scared to death!  We were at a big tournament and they just picked me out of the blue!  But as the game went on, it became alot of fun and stuff.  And make sure your the loudest when cheering your team!  When you,the leader of the team, gets pumped...teh others will follow. =)
