  1. while brushing brushing their teeth be sure they turn of the faucet and also after bathing, washing and peeing and using water close it tight so does no water will flow from it

  2. Easy. Post large print, easy words...near sinks or above them if possible. Read the sign to your child, pointing to each word, saying it slowly, have the child repeat the sentence.

"Wet toothbrush, then Turn off the water, when you brush your teeth. Turn it back on to rinse your teeth." Saves water running down the sink for no reason while teeth are being brushed.

In kitchen, " If you pour a glass of water, drink it all"

People, not just kids are prone to overfill their glasses and plates when thirsty and hungry.

Fill a glass half full. Drink it all. If more water is needed, turn the tap back on or pour more water from the fridge pitcher, but only half a glass at a time. This way water isn't being dumped down the sink and wasted.

Train yourselves and your children not to be selfish and wasteful, to take only what is needed and no more, and to take only small amounts at a time.

Turning off water during washing and toothbrushing should be obvious, you are not using the water that is just gushing down the tap. Plug the sink and fill it with water, if you like, but don't just let the tap run while you brush or wash. Turn it off between rinses to save water.

  3. low flow showerhead

  4. when it is raining, let kids get their 'kitchen equipment' to get rain water.

after let them water the plants, let them wipe a stain in the yard. in the toilet, flush the urine (bigger pail)

  5. if its yellow than its mellow if its brown flush it down lol put a brick in your toilet tank

  6. When running water to get it hot (dishes, showers...), fills pitchers for other uses like watering plants, rinsing recyclables, rinsing after washing surfaces (bathtubs, sinks)

  7. Mostly don't leave water running if you aren't using it.  Kids have a tendency to just watch it run from a faucet.

  8. Make shower time shorter and turn the water off while your brushing our teeth and don't flush so much

  9. We make sure to keep out lights off with not in use. Also me and my kids just got done with I newest water saving project. Rain catchers! We painted the huge buckets you get cat litter or detergent in and placed them in out yard. I live in Atlanta where we are having a horrid drought, we are allowed to water our lawn.
