Title of an old movie?

So a few years ago I was watching an old movie on TMC [I think]. I don't remember who was in it or the title, but I remember some parts of the movie. I believe this movie was made in the 50s or 60s.

This young couple are in love and in high school. The boy breaks up with her and the girl becomes suicidal. One part she is cutting off her hair. At the end of the movie she returns to him, but she sees his wife and his kid.

Anybody know the name of this movie?
