A student weighed a sample of KHP and found it weighed 1.176 g. Titration of this KHP required 19.84 mL of base (NaOH). Calculate the molarity of the base!

  1. KHp & NaOH react 1 mole to 1 mole

    find moles of KHP, using its molar mass:

    1.176g @ 204.2grams/mole = 0.005759 moles

    find molarity:

    0.005759 moles / 0.01984 litres = 0.2903 Molar NaOH

    your answer is : 0.2903 Molar
