Tivo green screen??? Help!!!!?

my tivo is displaying a green screen that says theres been an error and it needs to repair itself or something. it says that it should only take 3 hours but its been there since yesterday. does anybody know how to fix it????

It's one of two possibilities.

1. Tivo didnt upgrade properly and needs to be rebooted after 3-4 hours.

2. If the error occurs every time you boot up your Tivo then you have what known as the Green Screen of Death.

You hard drive has failed.

Since TiVo doesn't have technicians that can repair broken units, it is designed to fix itself. This should only be on this screen for a maximum of three hours. If after three hours this screen is still being displayed unplug both the power cord and the phone (or Ethernet) cord for about thirty seconds. The unit should start up in about 5 min. If it goes back to this screen call TiVo support (1-877-367-8486) and they will RMA this unit.

My TiVo recently got a software update. Perhaps yours did too, but it failed for some reason.

If you have no other control, unplug it - both power and phone. Wait a few minutes. Plug it back in and see what happens.

Otherwise, call TiVo and ask them.
