Question:

To Kill a Mockingbird - Creative Project?

We're suppose to create a movie poster, collage, diorama, etc. about the book. The only problem with me and creative projects, however, is I'm not very creative (art is stick figures to me).

How would you approach this assignment? I have no idea what to do, even after having read this book twice. A diorama seems creative, but would involve more work and materials (which I'm also lacking of). A collage is creative, but messy, and finding good pictures can be a real challenge (especially for neat freaks like myself). So this leaves me with a movie poster, which draws my mind blank.

If you have any other ideas, please let me know. Thanks in advanced for your opinions, creativity, and assistance in this project.

  1. with a diorama, you can always use legos....

you could write a poem. there is something called a found poem where you take specific poetic words from a story and just give the gist through poetry. its super easy, and if you make

for instance. Take Scout's description. and print a picture off google images of Scout in the movie. Then glue the descriptive ideas to Scout's picture.

    i hope you understood that...

  2. My mom is an English teacher and just had her students do a creative assignment for this book as well. These were some of the projects they did.

You could do 'wanted' posters for people in the book like for example Scout for acting too much like a boy or Jem for being too idealistic.

My mom had a student who looked up things about Alabama like the state bird etc and put them in a information pamphlet/brochure

Time line of the civil rights movment starting with the great depression

If you can write, do a series of letters from Tom Robinson to his wife Helen from jail or Atticus to his brother Jack during the trial.

A info diagram of the crime scene at the end of the book like if there was a trial, like something you would see on CSI.
