To Professional Pilots ONLY?

I just had a few questions i wanted to ask because, i am going to flight school in july to begin my pilot career. ATP Fight school in atlanta, ga.

1. Do you have to cut your hair? (i have locs and its my religion belief)

2. How are you placed in a plane?

3. Do you pick which plane you fly?

4. Do you pick where you fly to?

5. Which is the best airline in the U.S.?

6. Are pilots paid weekly/bi-weekly/monthly/?

7. How many days do you get off to spend with your family?

8. Can your fatmily/family member ride in the plane your flying?

9. What does the co-pilot do? Does he get to fly to or is he just there.

10. What are the steps you go threw when an airline hires you? Do they train you on one of their planes or all of them.

im sorry, im no pro pilot but i am traing to be one atm.  i have long hair but i will cut it for a career with qantas etc.

1.  Yes, you will have to cut your hair.  You will find that a neat, conventional appearance is essential to your career development.

2. I cannot figure out what this question means.

3. No.  The company puts you where they need you.

4. No.  They will send you where they need you.

5. They are all good; they all have their challenges.

6.  Bi-weekly.  Sometimes monthly

7.  Varies with seniority.  You do get quite a bit of time off.

8.  Some companies have family discount policies.

9.  The First Officer (copilot) does much of the paperwork and calculations, handles communications, and provides relief piloting services as requested by the Captain.  the FO has plenty to do.

10.  You may interview several times over a period of months.  They train you for the aircraft they need you for.

1.  Maybe not for flight school, but for employment yes, you have to cut your hair.

6.  I get paid every two weeks.  Per diem pay each month.

7.  1½ day off per week.  --Saturday afternoon to Monday morning.

9.  The copilot is responsible for drawing up the flight release, updating the charts, having the right charts out, computing the weight-and-balance, making calls and faxes to the company, and flying when the captain wants him to.  He programs the GPS, and usually flies every other flight leg.

10.  The airline trains you for one plane--sometimes for more than one plane.

2) You can choose the plane you train in at your flight school if thats what your talking about... If you are joining the airline you will be placed in one they choose...

4)As your seniority increases you can bid on flight legs and possibly get the ones you want!

5) Netjets... charter type buisness and if you consider them as one airline they would be the second largest airline in the world... would def recommend looking into

9)Fly's when Captain allows and usually takes care of company communications and paperwork.. Preflight walk arounds n such

10)Usually one plane, you go away to the aircraft simulator and train on the simulator going through all the emergency situations and such
