Im your opinion do you think that The celebrities and or culture should be to blame for a childs actions/attitude/attire?

Or..

Do you think that it's a case of lazy uninvolved parents that are to blame?

.........................................

I personally feel that it is a 50/50 situation..

the children look at TV, Friends, etc. and get the ideas from the sorces.. HOWEVER..

The parent is the person who purchases most clothing, CD, Magazines for their child. And, if you think that what your child see on TV is corrupting them.. turn the d**n thing off.. or set the parental controls!!!

i am sure to p**s some mommys and daddys off so lets have it!!

  1. I agree with the 50/50 blame. Pretty much everything out there has promotes a superficial lifestyle. So parents just need to do what they are supposed to. I do know it is hard though with work and bills. It still is possible though.

  2. Id say more like 90% the parents. While the Media may have an effect the effect could be positive if parents would supervise and teach a better message about whats being viewed. Or even not allowing them to view it. You can't blame TV, magazines and friends for what you fail to instill in your child. Its like parents who blame video games. If you teach your children the difference between fantasy and reality and supervise what they play you wont have as many issues. Outside sources wouldnt have as bad of an effect if more parents actually parented.

  3. Personally I think it's the parents. Granted kids will see the magazines, and see whats on tv. At the end of the day though, the parents are the ones living with and raising the kids. Just because things exist and celebs wear them, doesn't mean parents are forced to run out and buy it. Same with behavior. Just because the celebs are caught partying left and right, and sleeping around doesn't mean the parents have to allow it. So in my opinion it's just p**s poor parenting at it's finest. The only effect I see media having is simply an occasional dissagreement on what is/isn't allowed when the kid asks for somethig, or asks to do somehing seen in the media. None of these magazines/shows are holding parents hostage and making them do anything. They make their own choices, and their kids suffer from them.

  4. I think it's mostly parents. I mean if a kid sees celebrities on TV getting drunk and acting insane- they wouldn't want to copy it if there parents had set good examples.

I tell my oldest daughter to just look at the reputations those girls get. She thinks they are all scary freaks. We don't watch celebrity entertainment or anything around them- but my kids hear LOADS of stories from school.

It's MY job to put things in perspective. Ultimately, we cannot control celebrities or other people- we can only control the morals/values that we pass on and teach our kids.

  5. i agree with you parents need to turn the TV off and look at what their kids. parents need to be more involved with there kids.

that is why kids grow up to be lazy because parents don't make there kids do anything now days.

Why girls get pageant at 11 12 13 because people let their kids watch things like the bad girls club.

So people need to get off their butts and be with your kids.
