Question:

Toner in eye?

Okay So I was getting ready for bed and was putting proactive toner on my face and accidentally got some in my eye! I stung so I washed it out with water for maybe 2 minutes. It kinda feels funny now like stings a little bit but not as much as when I first got it in. My eye is a bit red but it was a bit red before I got toner in it so I can't really tell how much redder I got. Will I be okay? Can I just go to sleep? I'm pretty tired and don't want to spend 15 minutes washing my eye out.

I looked on the back of the bottle and all it said was "Avoid contact with eyes" Yeah that helps me!

Also if I put Visine in my eye will it react with the toner? I just want to put some in to make the red go away.

Well thanks in advance!

  1. Follow directions on the box reference getting it into your eye. You usually need to rinse it for 15 minutes. I wouldn't put anything else in it.

  2. I get shampoo in my eyes all the time and they go red. I can feel my eyes getting to work immediately - washing them out with tears.

For facial products such as the one you mentioned, you will need to flush at your eye(s) under the tap, running high for at least 15 minutes with cold-luke warm water - this will dilute the toner and will eventually flush it all out.

I don't see the need for eye drops, especially when you're about to go to bed, during that time which your eyes will recover itself more than likely.

Be more careful in the future and good luck!
