For science class for a project we have to design some type of experiment to see how many licks it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop. Ive got 17 pops to work with. Any ideas for an experiment?

Like an example he gave us(we cant use this one)- Have a dog l**k one and count how many licks it takes him and compare it to how many it takes you. Or Compare who takes less licks between kids 12 and younger or people 13 and over but those were examples and I'm having trouble of thinking of a good one. Any Ideas?!!!

Anything would be lovely thanks! :]

  1. First of all why should the teacher be shot (to the other posters) and there is no mention of any type of gun in what this person has posted.

Secondly it is your homework assignment so start l*****g. What you could do is give one to a younger person, a middle aged person and an older person AND YOUR SELF and compare the licks that way.

You are looking for the easy way out. Good Luck and start l*****g.

    Crack!!

    Three.

Does it make a difference if you soften it up in water first?

    Or soda pop?

Does a chocolate pop dissolve faster than a cherry pop?

And what about those mini-pops?  They are x*x% smaller than the big ones.  Do they take x*x% fewer licks?  or yyy% fewer licks?  Why?  Does the relative surface area matter?

And what about l*****g technique?  If a person licks one spot repeatedly does it melt faster than using a 'whole immersion/suck the whole pop' technique?

I agree with poster #1.  Your teacher should be shot.

What kind of weapon fires Tootsie Pops?  Would a slingshot be more efficient than an airgun?  What about doubling up the rubber band?

    :-D

  3. Your teacher should be taken out and summarily shot.
