This is my first year going and there are a couple of movies i would like to watch. I was wondering .. is that Gala where the celebrities go?

Celebrities are found at the premiere of the film (publicity) and at such things as the "Shmooze".

Gala events are usually attended by the director, producer and some of the cast members, and some or all of them usually talk a bit about the film before the screening.
