Toshiba- Network Adaptor

Question

A friend of mine brought his Toshiba over to me asking me to fix this problem he's having connecting to the internet. When he bought it they told told him that it came with the "Wi-Fi" connection ready to use. I went a little deeper into the problem and it is saying that it's disabled on one end, and enabled on another end. The Wi-Fi switch is turned on. is there anyway you can help us out on this one.
