Question:

Trainers: which is better?

Barbell: 70lbs BICEP CURLS 3X8

OR

2 Dumbells: 30lbs each BICEP CURLS 12X3

and also if u could improve the sets/reps that would be helpful thanks :D

  1. Dumbells are better because you can concentrate more energy into each rep.  Also, to get that "ball" that almost every guy wants, as you curl, turn your pinkie finger toward your face.  I would suggest doing sets like this:  15, 10, and then 5 really slowly.  On all sets, hold the last one.


  2. always isolate your bicepts when you get a chance. this will enable your weaked arm to catch up with your stronger arm

  3. i think that u sould do what ever u thing u can lift( or carry) or what u thing is best.

While I thinks it's great that you're working out, I have to be honest...you should not be training your muscles with isolated exercises at all...unless you are a body builder, in which case, muscular balance is not important at all---it's only about looks.  Isolated training is a thing of the past and it's based on old knowledge.  

    I recommend you train using full body (aka "functional") exercises.  Think about it --- your body works as a whole -- never in isolation.  When you train by isolating your muscle groups, you'll end up with a muscular imbalance.  This is NOT good if you play sports or do athletic types of activities.  Here's a great article on functional training and how to do it: http://www.maxworkouts.com
