  1. let's just say it is very hard to trade gerbils, well that's pretty  much because they are not ment to be trained, I mean it's possible, but if I were you and you're just getting it then I wouldn't.

  2. Gerbils should always be kept in same-s*x pairs.

They are highly social if they have a cagemate that was with them from a very young age.

    Taming is relatively simple.

Try reading everything on TwinSqueaks.com, they have FANTASTIC advice on hand taming gerbils.

I'm sorry this is so short, but I have a friend waiting for me outside... good luck today!

I'll come back and edit later when I get a chance. :]

  3. Please keep in mind that gerbils are social. If you can, please get two of the same gender.

There are several ways to tame a gerbil. The first, and probably most common, is just to give them yummy treats. Put some treats in the palm of your hand and put your hand down flat in the cage. Your gerbil will probably come over to investigate, and take a treat. Doing this will build its confidence, and you'll gain its trust. Sooner or later, it'll look for your hand to get some treats.

Another method is to take the gerbil in the bath tub. Put a towel down in the tub, and sit down with your legs crossed. Put your gerbil in the tub, and just let it run around. Gerbils, naturally curious, will climb all over you. This helped greatly with my gerbils.

If you look around, you may find others. Find the one that works best for you and your gerbil. Not every gerbil is the same. Some become tame with different methods.

  4. if you want to make your gerbil tame, blow on its face whenever it bites you. if you want to train your gerbil to do fun tricks, watch these videos:
