Training runner shoes?

wave elixior 3 by mizuno http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2836382 is it any good its by mizuno it says its a race shoe but i think its a trainer im serious about xc this year and i want fast trainers help forget the price i just think its a trainer not racer tell me if u think it is and if u reccommend it

it says its 9.5 ounces

personally i think it is a training shoe, it looks like it more than a race shoe but i am not sure.
