Trans planting heavenly bamboo?

I transplanted a 5' tall plant in june in washington. it looked ok for the first week and now it looks like its dieing. I water it reagerly( every other day) should I prun it back and wait or did i kill it.

  1. well you might be watering too much and thats why it looks like its dying dont prune it back it will puttoo much stress on the plant and then you would definetly kill it. when you repotted it you might have done some damage to the roots... considering how bad it might have been it might comeback......my suggestion to you is let it dry out firsdt and then water and the next time youwater it the soil should be dry one inch at least...... the best of luck

Bambo needs to establish a healthy root system before it will begin to thrive.  Do a little studying on the type of bamboo you plan to plant because some of it very invasive and needs to be contained by a three foot deep barrier in the ground.  Bamboo spreads by the roots and the invasive type can take over a yard as well as the neighbors if not contained.  There was one case I think on Peoples Court where the neighbor sued and won because his neighbors bamboo invaded his yard.  Bamboo shoots also come out of the ground the diameter the stock will be when mature.  I think it is a unique grass and some of it very beautiful but study up on it before you take the plunge or you may wind up with a migraine headache.
